The Kant-Garagenpalast, originally built in 1930 as a parking garage, quickly became a symbol of Neue Sachlichkeit. The architectural monument is located on Kantstraße in Charlottenburg, in the heart of Berlin’s gastronomic epicenter.
The landmark is the second oldest parking garage in the world and is listed as a historic building due to its outstanding features. These include an early steel and concrete construction with a double helix ramp, a curtain wall facade, and individual vehicle boxes.
The core renovation was completed in 2022, and the ground floor and five upper floors were converted into modern office space and a penthouse apartment. The units are equipped with air conditioning, sprinkler systems, flexible IT infrastructure, bathrooms with showers on each floor, kitchen facilities on each floor, concrete floors, two elevators, and underground parking spaces.
